IMPACT team raises money for Presley

For some, giving back is a gift, for others, it’s a mission. Such is the case when $1,960 was raised for nine-year-old Presley Minnick, who was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare cancer. The large tumor was found during a dentist appointment in April and after doctor’s visits, results showed the tumor had already affected her sinuses, nose, eye and cheek.

The Ray County Commissioners have unanimously approved a bid to stabilize walls inside Ray County Jail cells. Safety concerns are raised due to multiple jail cells having walls that are “deteriorating and wobbly,” according to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers.
Local alumni recognized at Missouri S and T

Ray County students were recognized on the honor’s roll at Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S and T) for the spring 2023 semester. To be included on the honor list, students must have carried a minimum of 12 hours and had grade point averages of 3.2 or above out of a possible 4.0.
