CFM Teams Up with Salvation Army

The Richmond Salvation Army Family Store was the beneficiary of volunteer services as the Christian Fellowship Ministry (CFM) recently donated their time and energy by painting walls, cleaning, sorting clothes and tackling building projects. “They are a huge blessing,” said Phillip Powers, director of Salvation Army in Richmond. “I think this is their second time coming to help as a group. They are very active and have helped with Harvesters too.” CFM member Libby Sturm gathered other CFM workers and coordinated the event with Powers and Patty Thompson, a CFM member who works every week at Salvation Army. “We support the Salvation Army financially, and at least once a year we try to get together as a church to donate our time to work on projects they need done,” Sturm noted. The projects needing attention included painting the back wall of the store and several hallway walls, cleaning the floors, sorting clothes on the racks and building a table.
