IMPACT team raises money for Presley

For some, giving back is a gift, for others, it’s a mission. Such is the case when $1,960 was raised for nine-year-old Presley Minnick, who was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare cancer. The large tumor was found during a dentist appointment in April and after doctor’s visits, results showed the tumor had already affected her sinuses, nose, eye and cheek. The city’s undefeated IMPACT baseball team, Freeman Masonry LLC and Richmond area O’Reilly Auto joined forces to host a car wash fundraiser. The team of youth players chose Presley as recipient of the funds because she is a “classmate and friend” of all the boys on the team. “We felt amazingly blessed to have such a wonderful group of boys who worked so hard for a great cause alongside coaches, parents and the support of their community to pull it off,” said Freeman Masonry owner Doug Freeman.
