NORBORNE – Hardin-Central and Norborne are partnering in a second sport. The Missouri Highway 10 schools have agreed to play softball this year as the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) co-op, with the ballclub practicing and playing its home games at Norborne.

It’s almost gametime for Ray County high school sports. Football season is slated to kick off this weekend for Richmond, the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) co-op program and Orrick.

SHAWN RONEY I sympathize with Sydney Appleberry, Genevieve Didier and Patrick Mahomes II – and thank them for their inspiration. Didier and Appleberry each play three high school sports for Richmond.

Like her first year of high school, Richmond sophomore Genevieve Didier plans to keep her teammates emotionally pumped in varsity volleyball, girls basketball and track. Unlike that first year, however, Didier won’t be out on the court or track competing with them.

Before Richmond, Orrick and Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) started fall sports practices this week in high school football, they each got in one last summer road trip. Richmond visited Branson, where the Spartans participated in an 11-man scrimmage camp.

Richmond has a new coach to start the varsity volleyball season. That coach, however, isn’t new to coaching Richmond volleyball.
