NHC partnership expands to include softball

NORBORNE – Hardin-Central and Norborne are partnering in a second sport. The Missouri Highway 10 schools have agreed to play softball this year as the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) co-op, with the ballclub practicing and playing its home games at Norborne. The agreement follows the co-op the schools formed in 2015 for varsity and junior high 8-man football. Two Richmond graduates will coach NHC softball – Jason McKinney and Brandee Doyle. McKinney led Norborne to the Class 1 2015 state title and a 2011 third-place finish in the Class 1 state tournament. He also is the father of three daughters who’ve played softball beyond high school: Madison, Sydney and Gracie. Madison pitched for Avila University in Kansas City. Sydney played for Wichita (Kan.) State University and is playing pro softball through Athletes Unlimited. Gracie is an infielder for North Central Missouri College in Trenton.
