NORBORNE – Hardin-Central and Norborne are partnering in a second sport. The Missouri Highway 10 schools have agreed to play softball this year as the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) co-op, with the ballclub practicing and playing its home games at Norborne. The agreement follows the co-op the schools formed in 2015 for varsity and junior high 8-man football. Two Richmond graduates will coach NHC softball – Jason McKinney and Brandee Doyle. McKinney led Norborne to the Class 1 2015 state title and a 2011 third-place finish in the Class 1 state tournament. He also is the father of three daughters who’ve played softball beyond high school: Madison, Sydney and Gracie. Madison pitched for Avila University in Kansas City. Sydney played for Wichita (Kan.)
