Didier keeps spirits up as ACL mends

Like her first year of high school, Richmond sophomore Genevieve Didier plans to keep her teammates emotionally pumped in varsity volleyball, girls basketball and track. Unlike that first year, however, Didier won’t be out on the court or track competing with them. Like senior basketball and track teammate Sydney Appleberry, who was profiled in the Richmond News’ Aug. 18 issue, Didier is sidelined until sometime in 2024 with an injury. And like Appleberry, Didier’s injury occurred while playing summer basketball. “There … (were) only about six of us, so we were constantly in and playing,” she recalled following an Aug. 7 volleyball practice in the high school gym. “And the first game, I had, like, 25 points – doing pretty … (well).
