Richmond’s Dolphin Swim Team has a road-heavy schedule this summer. The Dolphins are set to open their season Saturday with a meet at Carrollton – one of four away meets.
Norman Bowman has won a race against time. For years, Bowman had attempted to get the 1962 Richmond varsity football team inducted into the Richmond High School (RHS) Athletic Hall of Fame, he said.
Jonathon Harris left Orrick High School as a state champion. Harris, who graduated May 12, won the boys 110-meter high hurdles at the Class 1 state track and field meet, held May 1718 at Jefferson City High School.
Two school records fell when Hardin-Central competed in Class 1 state track and field competition May 17-18 at Jefferson City High School. By winning the boys 400-meter relay in 44.65 seconds, the foursome of Kaden McGinnis, Kalel Bowman, Denver Douglas and Brody Fifer broke the school record.
Jonathon Harris and Jaxon Miller aren’t finished representing Orrick High School, even though they graduated Sunday from there. The two are competing for Orrick’s varsity boys track and field team this weekend at the Class 1 state meet in Jefferson City.
POSSIBLE GRAND SLAM Richmond’s Kaylee King could bring home as many as four medals from the Class 3 state track and field meet this weekend. King qualified for the Friday-Saturday meet at Jefferson City by placing in the top four in four girls events at the Sectional 4 meet May 11 at Holden.
Myleigh Misenhelter is finished dancing for Richmond High School basketball games, but she’s not finished dancing for sporting events. As the Richmond News reported May 10, Misenhelter has joined the dance team at the University of Central Missouri (UCM), where she’ll perform for football and basketball games, and participate in dance competitions.
LEXINGTON – Richmond put itself in position to sweep Lexington this season in varsity baseball. The Spartans won their first two meetings with the Minutemen, 7-6 and 11-1.
