RHS alum hopes signing will begin football ‘pipeline’

A recent act by Bryer Farnan might be the start of a relationship between Richmond High School and Central Methodist University (CMU) when it comes to athletics. Farnan, who’ll graduate in May from Richmond, has signed a letter of intent to play football at CMU, an NAIA-affiliated school in Fayette, where he plans to study business.

RHS gives Hyder, Hutchings sendoff for state

Brady Hyder and Madix Hutchings got heroes’ sendoffs Tuesday afternoon from their Richmond High School classmates, faculty and administrators. With a drum corps leading the way, Hyder and Hutchings were paraded through the school halls before leaving for Columbia to compete Wednesday and Thursday at the Class 2 state high school wrestling tournament at Mizzou Arena.

Maybe I’m not as sick of football as I had thought.

Or maybe I’m more of an Australophile than I had thought.

As you’ll recall, I recently wrote a column expressing my desire to watch baseball of the non-Major League Baseball variety. One of my reasons was fatigue from following college football. Another was my fatigue from following pro football. But after streaming a few videos, I find myself wanting to engage with the gridiron game again – and wanting to explore Australian culture again.
