Spartans begin prepping for 2025-26 campaign

Richmond’s 2025-26 varsity boys basketball season doesn’t begin Dec. 2, when the Spartans open the regular season and their Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division schedule against visiting Carrollton, according to veteran guard Nolan Quick.

Spartans make adaptations to stage camp

CHAMPION Jacob Johnson ended his high school track and field career at Richmond as a state champion. Johnson, who formally graduated May 9 and has signed to attend and compete in men’s track and field at Pittsburg (Kan.) State University, won the boys triple jump at the Class 3 state meet.

King surprises herself at districts

CHILLICOTHE – Kaylee King probably wasn’t surprised at qualifying for sectionals in girls track and field in three events. She was surprised, however, at qualifying in a fourth event.
