Virus pressures hospital staff, CEO states

RICHMOND – COVID-19 strains Ray County Memorial Hospital staff, some contracted the virus, but all remain dedicated to patient care, Administrator Earl Sheehy said Tuesday.

“We have several staff members who have tested positive,” he said. “We’re worried.”

One key hospital staff member who tested positive within the last two weeks for the virus is going through the protocol and cannot return to work until next week, Sheehy said

County considers CARES grants for businesses

RICHMOND – Having received requests from schools and other government groups for federal aid, the Ray County Commission expects them to ask for more money, and businesses might seek a share, too. The federal government provided the commission with $2.7 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act, funding.
