Wrecking ball takes down landmark, old grain elevator, one bang at a time

RICHMOND – Suspended from a cable attached to a crane parked beside the grain elevator on Old Highway 10, a wrecking ball swings out, brightened by sunlight against the blue sky. The “ball” – resembling a sinker attached to a fishing line – is cast, reaches a high point, seems to pause for a moment and returns with a purpose.

Grants for specialty crops

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Department of Agriculture is accepting proposals through March 8 for anticipated funding from the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. “These grant funds will assist projects in both rural and urban settings, allowing our producers to find continued growth and success,” Missouri Agriculture Director Chris Chinn said.
