An “unbelievably wellcoached team” ended Richmond graduate Dan Lanning’s quest of coaching the University of Oregon to a College Football Playoff (CFP) title this season. The team was Indiana University, led by coach Curt Cignetti.

Richmond more than held its own against larger schools Jan. 10 in the boys portion of the Marshall Wrestling Invitational.

LEXINGTON – For her final girls wrestling competition of 2025, Richmond sophomore Taylor Baker wanted to win a minimum of two matches by technical fall. Baker did so.

At press time, Richmond graduate Dan Lanning remained in pursuit of a national college football title. Lanning is head coach at the University of Oregon.

For Richmond senior Delilah True, the new year means she’ll soon be a college athlete – in a sport she hadn’t planned to pursue. As the Richmond News recently reported, True has signed with the rowing program at Drake University, an NCAA Division I private school based in Des Moines, Iowa.
