Late in the third quarter, the Spartans were in position to pull away from Wellington- Napoleon in the boys fifth-place game of the Richmond Winter Classic. The runaway didn’t happen.

Richmond lost the momentum against Odessa in the Richmond Winter Classic girls championship game because of second-half shooting woes, Spartans varsity coach Kaylee Vantrump and sophomore perimeter player Brylee Castilleja agreed.
