Ray County Coroner candidates Andrew Buck and Bart Willim, responded to questions during the recent Richmond News political forum. Willam’s daughter, Ashlee Kirkham, represented her father.

Shirkey Nursing and Rehab recently held a political luncheon to discuss the nursing home crisis in Missouri. State representatives Peggy McGaugh and Terry Thompson, along with state senate candidates Kurtis Gregory and Doug Richey, listened to area nursing home directors speak on issues facing housing for the elderly.

Three Missouri State Senate District 21 candidates attended The Richmond News’ political forum, including Democrat Jim Bates and Republicans Doug Richey and Kurtis Gregory. The candidates were asked screened questions submitted by the public and were given two minutes each to provide their answers.

Gary Blackwell, Sheriff Scott Childers and Geremy Pearce have tossed their hats in the ring in the bid for Ray County Sheriff. The three answered questions for the crowd attending the Richmond News Political Forum.

Three candidates for various township seats — Jennifer Houcek of Fishing River and Elizabeth Wenig and Gary Wenig, both of Richmond — addressed the crowd during the recent political forum. Two seats are to be filled for the Richmond Township, while Fishing River Township has one available spot.

Candidates for Eastern Commissioner, Max Hockemeier and Dave Powell, responded to questions at the recent Richmond News Political Forum. Candidates were given two minutes for an opening statement.
