Missouri’s annual Backto- School Sales Tax Holiday offers a tax-free period for the purchase of school supplies, computers, clothing and other qualifying items as defined by statute. TRAFFIC ALERT: Lane closures scheduled on MO Route N in Clay County, July 30 - Sept. 6

CLAY COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting pavement resurfacing operations on Missouri Route N between Seybold Road and MO Route 210 starting approximately Tuesday, July 30, until Friday, Sept. 6, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. resulting in various lane closures. All work is weather permitting. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.

Damages caused by the installation of fiber cables in rural areas were discussed during a recent Ray County Planning and Zoning Board meeting. Attending the meeting were Ray County Planning and Zoning Assistant Paula Patchett, Mike Daniel, Spectrum Construction Manager; Rob Knight, Cat 5 Director of Construction; Damon Calvert, Co-Owner of On Track Resources (OTR); and representatives from several Ray County special road districts.
