Local 4-H groups receive FCS grants

Farm Credit System (FCS) Financial has awarded local 4-H Clubs and Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapters $500 to improve their local communities through the Shaping Rural Missouri Grant program. There were 101 4-H clubs and FFA chapters receiving grants this year, including Clever Clovers, Dale Patton, Millville, Olde Tyme and Lawson 4-H groups as well as the Richmond FFA.

AG responds in lawsuit against Childers

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a new response in an ongoing legal dispute with Sheriff Scott Childers in Ray County Court. On March 7, Childers was removed from office under criminal investigation and is on paid administrative leave. This comes at the hands of Missouri Attorney General Bailey via petition of quo warranto. Quo warranto is a common law remedy used to challenge a person’s right to hold a public office In the response, Bailey claims Childers has no legal grounds to amend the defenses he previously filed.
