James Randall “Jim” Harris, 67, of Richmond, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. 

James was born on December 28, 1954, at their home in Hardin, the son of Lloyd and Mary Alice (Pennell) Harris, Sr.  He was united in marriage to his loving wife Teresa Kay (Trout) Harris of Richmond on May 22, 1976; she preceded him in death on April 22, 2018.

Marjorie Dean Pearson Stuart

Marjorie Dean Pearson Stuart, 76, a resident and native of Richmond passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

She was born on April 14, 1945, the daughter of Mack and Eleanor (Jung) Pearson.  On February 13, 1965, she married Paul Wayne Stuart of Richmond; he preceded her in death on November 4, 2001.

Reverend John Benjamin Selleck, 80, of Braymer, died Friday, January 7, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

John was born on May 5, 1941, in Sayer, PA, the son of Jesse and Gertrude (Bierfreund) Selleck.  He was united in marriage to Lorraine June Tripp of New York on August 19, 1961; she preceded him in death on January 6, 2019.

Dorothy Marie Essig, 83, of Excelsior Springs, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Liberty Hospital. 

Dorothy was born on November 16, 1938, in Liberty, the daughter of Tyrus “Ty” and Hortence (Woods) Coats.  She was united in marriage to Edwin Lee “Eddie” Essig of Excelsior Springs on November 2, 1968; he preceded her in death on October 7, 2014.

Eugenia Kay (Swafford) Scherlinger

Eugenia Kay (Swafford) Scherlinger, 86, of Henrietta, died Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at River Bend Heights Rehabilitation Center in Lexington. 

Eugenia was born on June 11, 1935, in Ray County, the daughter of Fletcher Martin and Geneva Ella (Jones) Coffman.  She was first united in marriage to Donald Acree “Rooster” Swafford; he preceded her in death.  She was then united in marriage to Harry Joe Scherlinger; he also preceded her in death. 

Survivors include: several nieces and nephews.

Kyla was born on October 11, 1977, in Richmond, the daughter of Kenneth “Wayne” and Carolyn Rose (Oyler) Pugh.

Thomas Louis Sportsman, 78, of Rayville, was called home, Sunday, January 2, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital. 

Thomas was born on August 16, 1943, in Chariton County, the son of Louis and Juanita (Wilkins) Sportsman.  He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Judy Pike of Ray County on November 30, 1963; she survives of the home.

Michael Winston "Mike" Bliss

Michael Winston “Mike” Bliss, of Richmond, MO, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021, from complications due to COVID-19, at the age of 75. 

Mike was born on September 9, 1946, at the United States Naval Base in Charleston, SC, the son of Oliver Winston Bliss, originally of Braymer, MO, and Evelyn Juanita Vaughn-Bliss, formerly of Nashville, TN.

Cindy Cazzell

Cindy Cazzell, 74 of Orrick, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Liberty Hospital.

Cindy was born on October 20, 1947 in the Ray County area to Jim and Virginia Belt. Cindy was a lifetime Orrick resident. She was a 1964 graduate of Orrick High School, and was a member of Fleming Baptist Church.

On June 20, 1964, Cindy was united in marriage to Scotty Cazzell of Orrick, MO. Cindy was a great cook and loved quarterback Tom Brady. She also loved to decorate for the holidays. She loved her family, and her grandkids were her pride and joy.
