Betty Ann Phipps

Betty Ann Phipps, 87, of Richmond, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Betty was born on Jan. 24, 1935, in Richmond, the daughter of Roy Lee and Mary Elizabeth (Oliphant) Schwensen.  She was united in marriage to Andrew J. “A.J.” Phipps of Richmond on July 15, 1956; he preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2010.

Peggy Jean Sullard

Peggy Jean Sullard, 89, of Richmond, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at North Care Hospice House in Kansas City.

Peggy was born on May 11, 1932, in Branch, the daughter of James Monroe and Eliza Mae (Jump) Lynch.  She was united in marriage to Donald Gene Sullard of Richmond on Aug. 25, 1950; he preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 2002.

Rodney Wayne Walker

Rodney Wayne Walker, 55, of Lexington, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital. 

Rodney was born on May 15, 1966, in Kansas City, the son of Marvin Lee and Beverly Ann (Proffitt) Walker.  He was united in marriage to Beth Ann Childress of Odessa, on August 22, 2015; she survives of the home.

Bonnie Faye Junkins

Bonnie Faye Junkins, 80, of Richmond, formerly of Norborne, died Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

Bonnie was born on August 7, 1941, in Long Lane, the daughter of Charley Everett and Flora Alice (Williams) Smith.  She was united in marriage to Arnold Ray Junkins of Dallas County on January 17, 1959; he preceded her in death on June 9, 1994. 

Harold Wayne Simmons

Body

Harold Wayne Simmons, 85, of Richmond, died Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. 

Harold was born on July 21, 1936, in Henrietta, the son of William J. and Letha C. (Lemke) Simmons. 

Survivors include: his good friends, Pat Mills and Shirley O’Dell and all his friends at the senior center in Richmond. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, Robert B. Simmons, and sister, Lois Jean Kuefel.

Rodney Eugene Gorham

Rodney Eugene Gorham, 60, of Camden, died Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond. 

Rodney was born on October 29, 1961, in Ray County.  The son of Paul Ray and Era Jean (Mansell) Gorham.  Rodney was united in marriage to his wife of 35 years, Mary Beth Emery of Lexington on February 14, 1987; she survives of the home.
