Museum work underway

Body

RICHMOND  – Winter cleaning is underway in Ray County’s “attic,” the museum at 901 W. Royle St., Richmond.

“Today is really the first day of the push,” Ray County Museum manager Cathy Gottsch said while standing in her office last week. “We’re going to revamp this room.”

Wallpaper in the room, the first to the left of the museum entrance, is curling and the overall look is dingy after years of use.

“We want to make it more hospitable,” but that is only part of the room plan, Gottsch said. “We will establish a gift shop in it.”
