For some, giving back is a gift, for others, it’s a mission. Such is the case when $1,960 was raised for nine-year-old Presley Minnick, who was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma, a rare cancer. The large tumor was found during a dentist appointment in April and after doctor’s visits, results showed the tumor had already affected her sinuses, nose, eye and cheek.

A 31-year-old Braymer woman is facing several charges from multiple agencies following a recent vehicle pursuit. After a vehicle was reported stolen from Casey’s gas station in Polo, Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) Deputy Robbie Cox located and initiated the pursuit of the vehicle on Palmer Drive.

With the intention to honor her late husband, Marcia Claire Smith donated an 1800s Landau carriage made in Germany to the Ray County Museum this past week. Marcia’s husband, Donald Ray Smith, had a love for restoring buggies and carriages.

Complete with dancing and limbo, Special Needs Services (SNS) of Ray County hosted Community at Play (CAP) Summertime Fun Dance recently. SNS Executive Director Suzan Breen stated the event, which was open to the public, was positive and fun, with the goal was to get people moving.
