911 board severs ties with sheriff’s department
After nine months of letters, meetings, and changes, the Ray County 911 Board finalized its decision to terminate the cooperative agreement with the Ray County Sheriff’s Department. The board will continue to maintain all software and hardware provided by 911 under all other agreements in place, according to the board’s letter to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers.
The termination of 911 employee entry of warrant data into the Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) system will become effective Dec. 31.
The unanimous vote came during a closed session, with 911 board members Jimmy Carter, Perry Vandiver, Lee O’Dell, Matt Nolker, and Chairman Paul Harris all in favor of the termination, according to the letter.
“Ray County 911 will continue to provide dispatch services, Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System inquiries, CAD services, and all other duties related to general communications,” stated the letter.
