Growing up in Richmond, Cody Hogan learned from teachers who inspired him to make a difference. Today, he’s doing the same for the next generation of students.

Hogan, who has spent the past 12 years teaching special education, plans to bring that same passion to the business department at Richmond High School this school year, where he’ll teach personal finance, business technology and business management.

After growing up in Richmond, Hogan continued his education on a wrestling scholarship at North Iowa Area Community College, where he earned an associate degree. He later attended the University of Central Missouri, earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in special education.

Although he always enjoyed helping others, Hogan said it was the teachers and coaches he encountered along the way who ultimately inspired his career choice.
