Two Henrietta jail convicts escaped from the Ray County Jail Monday, March 27 at 11:45 p.m. after attacking a correctional officer, according to Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers.
The Restore Richmond Home Improvement Grant Program began last year and after positive feedback – is back again this year for local homeowners. Any Richmond homeowner who lives in the residency and wishes to improve their property can apply today.

In his second season as Orrick varsity track coach, Kirk Thacker is doing something he didn’t have to do last season: share his athletes with another sport. Per a change in school district participation policy, student-athletes may play more than one sport each season.
Richmond coach Murray Dennis’ boys golf roster is filled with newcomers to high school team golf. Some of those newcomers, however, are not golfing novices.
Thanks largely to a German exchange student, Richmond has something it hasn’t had since 2019: a high school boys tennis team. Coached by Brett Terry, who also coaches Richmond’s girls program, the team consisted of seven players as of March 14.
