WARRENSBURG – Hannah Norris was consistent Monday. The Richmond senior shot a 53 for the front nine and 53 again for the back nine at the Missouri River Valley Conference Tournament at Mules National Golf Course.
ORRICK – Coach Eric Fairchild could think of a few reasons a 14-point halftime lead disappeared and his Bearcats lost 56-40 Oct. 2 to visiting Worth County/Northeast Nodaway County in varsity 8-man football action.
HARDIN – A win over Braymer/ Breckenridge Friday night at Braymer in 8-man football will get last week’s loss to Liberal/Bronaugh off the Aggies’ backs. It will get Norborne Hardin-Central varsity coach Kirk Thacker off their backs, too.
HIGGINSVILLE – The Spartans reap a harvest of points in their 54-34 win Sept. 25 over the perennial Missouri River Valley Conference East Division champion Lafayette County of Higginsville Huskers at Higginsville.
RICHMOND – Ray Countians Timmy Hamilton and Dylan Comstock got to test themselves against some of the country’s top junior golfers, and a few international junior golfers, last weekend. And in a pandemic-created twist of fate, they did so on their home course.
RICHMOND – Hannah Norris and Kennedy Wrisinger delivered the one-two punch that helped the Spartans edge Lawson Wednesday at Shirkey Golf Course. Norris, a senior, shot a 54 (+16) for the nine-hole, par-38 round to lead the Spartan girls, who shot a combined 244.
ORRICK – Varsity volleyball coach Trevor Ballard made a vow after his Bearcats got swept 3-0 Monday by visiting Mid-Buchanan. “We’re going to be working a lot on our basics because we left basic volleyball behind tonight and it caught us,” Ballard said after the non-conference defeat.
