Ahart continues sharpening tennis skills

Jaxon Ahart looks to test himself against other metro area prep tennis players next week. Ahart, a Richmond underclassman, is set to compete in the Summit Slam, scheduled for July 7-9 in Lee’s Summit. The competition is part of the KC Summer Slam Series. The Summit Slam is among “Four Core” tournaments scheduled for June and July, series information states. The series also includes three “Satellite” competitions. “It’s a cool opportunity that we’re happy that they have been able to reach out and let us know about it,” Richmond girls and boys tennis coach Zachary Baldauf said June 19. The format makes the Summit Slam appealing, according to Baldauf. Unlike some tournaments, it offers a two-match guarantee, he said. “It’s just kind of open – being able to see people from a lot of different areas,” Baldauf said.
