Sheriff’s Office assists in arrest after homicide

HARDIN – The Ray County Sheriff’s Office assisted area law enforcers in the arrest of a murder suspect in Hardin.

Sheriff Garry Bush said Aug. 21 that area law enforcers alerted his office that the suspect, Thorne McKendrick, 19, Kansas City, could be in southeastern Ray County. Bush’s staff began to search for McKendrick.

Richmond business owner focuses on supervised visitation services

RICHMOND – Kim Ghisalberti said she hopes her new business will help make supervised custody visits less painful for parents and their children, and maybe reduce travel time. Ghisalberti plans to open On Neutral Ground, a supervised visitation service on North College Street in Richmond, in early September.

SBA warns email phishing scams target businesses

RICHMOND – The Small Business Administration is sending a cyber-warning alert to loan applicants seeking federal aid in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The email phishing campaigns involve malicious actors who impersonate the SBA and the Office of Disaster Assistance to collect personally identifiable information for fraudulent purposes.
