A 40-year-old Richmond man’s preliminary hearing on a nearly one-year-old case was continued by Ray County Judge Lori Baskins in Ray Circuit Court Division Tuesday. Ray County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Tara Medlin’s requested the continuance on behalf of Justin Robinson, who faces two felony charges of escape or attempted escape from confinement with a deadly weapon and second-degree assault. Medlin requested the continuance of the March 27, 2023 case, citing need for an order to allow former Ray County Sheriff Scott Childers to enter the courtroom, as well as the need to allow video to be viewed. “I believe that there are several videos the victim has not seen and also with the previous situations that we spoke about at the bench – the state is going to request a continuance.
