Humane Society finds ways to keep animals safe

Body
The Humane Society of Ray County (HSRC) found ways to keep the floors dry, the animals warm and spirits high this past holiday season. Ray County Commissioners have yet to look at the county-owned building and agreed at the last meeting with HSRC members to go look and walk through the building to see its disrepair. HSRC President Atalie Blackwell, Jennifer Mills and Clare Flamank talked about the current state of the building – especially the roof. Blackwell explained the roof has places where the outside is visible, water comes in from the rain, and at any given time, she believes it will cave in.

The World Health Organization says one in six people will be 60 or older by 2030. With such a large portion of the population on the cusp of turning 60, it makes sense for individuals to familiarize themselves with the more notable issues affecting seniors.
