WARRENSBURG – Veterans who are wanting to transition to civilian life can find help. They can prepare for a new career at any school through Veterans Upward Bound, or VUB, at the University of Central Missouri.

RICHMOND – The Ray County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees voted to cut the hospital’s home health program after a 90-day phasing out period. “I don’t want to do it,” Vice Chairman Dale Vandiver said in making the motion July 16 to cut the program.

RICHMOND – The public said no to early release for the so-called “toxic pharmacist,” Robert Courtney, and the Bureau of Prisons did an about-face. Clay County cases rose in the past week by 88, from 558 to 646, and deaths climbed by one, to 21. Ray County cases are up by seven, going from 31 to 38.
