Cooperative warns about scam

KEARNEY – Platte-Clay Electric Cooperative warns consumer-members in Ray, Clay, Platte and other counties of a new phone scam targeting them. The scam consists of PCEC members being falsely told the cooperative was bought out by another utility and their payments were not processed correctly due to the merger.

COVID-19 NUMBERS GROW

THE UNITED STATES on Tuesday endured another 1,000-plus death day due to the coronavirus. The country has suffered 142,000-plus deaths, up by 5,000 versus the previous week. Clay County cases rose in the past week by 88, from 558 to 646, and deaths climbed by one, to 21. Ray County cases are up by seven, going from 31 to 38.
