RICHMOND – With the last minutes of his 20-year career in public service ticking off the clock, Eastern Commissioner Allen Dale helped make sure volunteer Bob Littleton would be able to help the county’s older residents. Littleton leads the county-funded Ray County Senior Service Board, which serves people through the Eagleton Center. “Somebody needs to be available to answer the phone,” Dale said. “As long as we get the messages,” Littleton said. “Right,” Dale said. “We don’t want to have anybody on the waiting list,” Littleton said. “We appreciate everybody on that board,” Dale said. During the pandemic, the board has faced difficulty providing service, Littleton said. “It’s been a challenge,” he said. “Our biggest concern is to make sure we have nobody waiting to get assistance from it.
