RICHMOND – Peer support training for first responders is coming to Richmond on July 14. The class is open to everyone who wishes to serve and minister to first responders.

RICHMOND – “Bikers welcome” is the message sent with four new bicycle stands recently installed around Richmond’s downtown square. The community beautification project, funded by the city of Richmond, includes four new bike racks and four matching park benches, one on each side of the downtown square.
RICHMOND – Voters broke two ties during Tuesday’s special elections, with 4.6% of the registered voters choosing a Ward 1 council member and a Richmond R-XVI Board of Education member. Jim Hardison took the vacant Ward 1 council seat with 18 votes.
The Richmond News welcomes Sophia Bales, a 2022 Missouri Valley College graduate, to its staff as a newsroom reporter. “I was very excited - over the moon (about accepting this position)… When I was younger, I always knew that I wanted to write,” said Bales. Bales will serve as general assignment reporter for the Richmond News and its sister newspaper, The Excelsior Springs Standard.
JEFFERSON CITY – Starting with his junior year at Richmond, Jacoby Johnson chased the boys 400-meter dash record. On May 27 at Adkins Stadium, during his final high school track and field meet, Johnson overtook the record.
RICHMOND - Over the next few months, Ray County Memorial Hospital will work with area providers to update the 2019 Ray County Community Health Needs Assessment. “We are seeking input from community members regarding the health care needs in order to complete the 2022 (assessment),” hospital information states.
RICHMOND – The Ray County Community Arts Association’s Annual Fine Arts and Photography Show drew dozens of entries at the Friends Gallery, 110 S. Camden St., event coordinator Melinda White said.
