Like previous years, the 2026 Richmond Spartan Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony consisted of more than inducting standouts in the history of Richmond High School (RHS) sports. Before seven individuals and the 2003 varsity football team were inducted, two college-bound student athletes were recognized.

MIRANDA JAMISON The aroma of simmering vegetables filled the Ray County Library as attendees gathered for a recent Community Connections program focused on cabbage, greens and creative ways to make use of seasonal produce. The event was part of the ongoing Community Connections series, an initiative led by Special Needs Services (SNS) that focuses on teaching families affordable, creative ways to use seasonal ingredients while encouraging healthy eating and community engagement.

From the nation’s founding documents to memorials honoring generations of Americans, Richmond Middle School students recently experienced history beyond the pages of a textbook. A group of eight students traveled to Washington, D.C., as part of the school’s 37th annual eighth-grade trip.
