The Ray County Library is planting the seeds of self-reliance – literally and figuratively – with the launch of a new educational series focused on food growing and sustainability. The “Learn to Grow Your Food” event series will begin with a Seed-Starting Workshop on April 16 from 5-5:45 p.m.

Spring is here and that means, like the weather, the Missouri State Assessments will be heating up in public schools across Missouri this April and May. Each spring, the Richmond R-XVI students and staff, as well as other neighboring school districts, get a chance to prove their learning prowess by participating in the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP) tests in grades three through eight and End of Course (EOC) exams for grades nine through 12.

Three candidates have filed for two available seats on the Orrick Board of Aldermen in the upcoming April 8 municipal election. The candidates are Brooke Edney, Cindy Epperson and James Smith.
