Body HIGGINSVILLE – Shooting issues hurt the Spartans in their 36-33 nail-biting loss Tuesday to Odessa in the Husker Classic at Lafayette County of Higginsville, Richmond varsity girls basketball coach Chad Snyder and senior post player Emmalea Kilpatrick agreed.

Body KNOB NOSTER – The Spartans gave Cody Hogan a third-place finish in his first tournament as Richmond’s varsity wrestling coach.

Body LUDLOW – Annie Finley has her first win as Hardin-Central’s varsity girls basketball coach. Finley reached the milestone Monday with the Bulldogs’ 40-22 road win over Southwest of Livingston County.

Body LUDLOW – Hardin-Central remains undefeated in varsity boys basketball. The Bulldogs improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Carroll-Livingston Activities Association play with Monday’s 63-36 Carroll-Livingston Activities Association road win over Southwest of Livingston County.

Body ORRICK – The Bearcats are still figuring out their identity as a varsity boys basketball team. Coach Matt Brownsberger was reminded of that after Orrick’s 57-25 loss Dec.

Body ORRICK – The Bearcats focused on doing “little things” well during their 82-4 loss to Wellington-Napoleon on Dec. 4 to open the I-70 Conference Tournament, hosted by Orrick, varsity girls basketball coach Zach McGill said.

Body RICHMOND – Coach Kevin Jermain has found himself shorthanded during Richmond’s leadup to the varsity boys basketball season.

Body Snyder is on Richmond’s varsity football coaching staff. He also is in his fourth season as the head varsity girls basketball coach.

Body RICHMOND – The area wresting scene and coaching Richmond wrestlers are nothing new to first-year Spartans varsity coach Cody Hogan. Hogan is a 2007 Richmond High graduate.

Body HARDIN – First-year varsity girls basketball coach Annie Finley has known her Bulldogs for years. One Bulldog has known Finley for a lifetime: senior post player and daughter Morgan Finley.
