Broadcast students seek journalism insight

Council approves VFDs, pump repairs

Body The Richmond City Council approved the purchase of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and repairs to a lift station pump experiencing a cooling system seal malfunction during a recent meeting. The devices will help maintain optimal conditions in wastewater treatment.

Prescribed burning time

Body Driving around county highways, residents may notice farmers burning crop leftovers from the fall harvest. Although these prescribed fires can be positive for the fields, there is always the risk of the fire growing unmanageable requiring help from area fire departments.

Body While in search of a Richmond man at large last week, Richmond Police Department (RPD) responded to a wooded area on West Main Street after a caller described a man similar to that which police had posted online, in a gray hoodie running in the woods.

Commissioners approve fencing

Body Ray County Commissioners Gary Wilhite, Billy Gaines and Dave Powell approved the purchase of supplies for the mental health side of Ray County Jail. The project would be funded from the Capital Improvement Fund.
