The Richmond News, July 28, 2023 Jason Donald Fowler, 48, of Liberty passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City. Jason was born on March 24, 1975, in Richmond, the son of Julian Donald “Donnie” Fowler and Brenda (Hightower) Berger.

GEORGE P. STAPLETON

George P. Stapleton age 79 of Sioux Center, Iowa died April 29, 2023, at Sioux Center Health in Sioux Center. A celebration of Life service gathering will be held on July 29, 2023 from 10AM – 1PM at the Family Life Center of Centerpoint Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. George Phillip (Bossy) Stapleton was born August 5, 1943, to Thomas and Mildred (Ward) Stapleton in Davis City, Missouri. As a child he went to live on the farm with his Uncle Walter and Aunt Mary Stapleton where he enjoyed helping on the farm. Graduating from Gallatin High School in 1961 he entered the work force where he worked on a dairy farm and the river docks. George married Sharon Callaway and to this union four children were born, Melinda Coleman, Michael Stapleton, Terry Stapleton and Jeffrey Stapleton. He started driving trucks in 1964 and was a union truck driver. On May 15, 1986, George was united in marriage to Johnita Eisenbraun in Rapid City, SD. The couple made their home in Kadoka, South Dakota. George drove a truck for P.I.E Trucking. Over the years, the couple moved to Denver, Colorado and then to Dallas, Texas. While in Texas, George began driving for NW Trucking. He continued to drive trucks until his retirement in May of 1999. He was proud to have been a member of the Teamsters Union for 35 years. After retirement, George and Johnita lived in Missouri and South Dakota before settling in Iowa. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and a good game of cards. He enjoyed old movies and music. He always had a story to share from his younger days. Spending time with his children always put a smile on his face but his grandkids and great grandkids were his greatest blessings. He is survived by his wife, Johnita Stapleton; his children: Melinda Coleman, Michael Stapleton, Terry Stapleton and Jeffery Stapleton; three stepchildren: Debra Eisenbraun, Mike (Holly) Eisenbraun and Cindy (Ron) Davidson; 2 siblings: Robert Stapleton, Mary Ann Holt; sister-inlaw, Donna Stapleton; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Those who preceded him in death are his parents; a brother, Thomas Stapleton, a sister, Sandra Stapleton, sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Bud) Lee; sister-in-law, Pat Stapleton and brother-in-law, Ray Holt.

Andrea Leigh Akers, 58, of Richmond, MO passed away July 14th, 2023 at home. Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm July 22, 2023 at Stella’s Richmond, MO. Andrea was born November 27th 1964 in Okinawa Japan. Andrea most recently worked on the railroad, she spent many years as a PCT for Dialysis. Andrea was a graduate of Blue Springs High School and lived in Sweet Springs MO most of her life.

MARVIN DEAN MILLIGAN

Marvin Milligan Marvin Dean Milligan, 77, of Richmond passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Dean was born on Jan. 29, 1946, in Stet, the son of Leo Grant and Katherine (Stratton) Milligan. He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Hendrix of Richmond on Sept. 3, 1965. She survives of the home.
