James McClellan “Jim” Coleman, 72, of Richmond passed away on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on Aug. 11, 1951, in Excelsior Springs, the son of Keith Claude and Dorothy (Rush) Coleman. He was first united in marriage to Bonita Brady of Richmond on Feb. 24, 1973. They later divorced.

Earl Loyd Strickler, 91, of Lexington passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Earl was born on July 8, 1932, in Henrietta, the son of Everett Lawrence and Inez Bernice (Wright) Strickler.

Evan Reed Vandiver, 19, of Richmond, beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023, in Osage Beach. Evan was born to his loving parents, Gary and Penny (Holloway) Vandiver, on Jan.

Lisa Beth Langdon, 44, of Independence, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 7, 2023, in Richmond. Lisa was born on May 31, 1979, in Honolulu, HI, the daughter of Randy and Susie (Vannattan) Langdon.

Ethel “Mae” Smithey, 89, of Kansas City, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023. Mae was born on Oct. 17, 1933, in Camden to Albert and Sally (Cruse) Millsap. On Nov. 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to Billy Smithey. Together, they raised three children, Joe (Karen) Smithey of Richmond, Jackie Smithey of Richmond and John Lam of Kansas City.

Janet Elaine Wheeler, 68, of Richmond passed away on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Bonnie Kay Leach, 77, of Hardin passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond. Bonnie was born July 4, 1946, in Henrietta, the daughter of Cleatus Van and Elsie Lee (Swafford) Burnine. She was united in marriage to James A. “Jimmy” Leach of Hardin on Sept. 9, 1990. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include three daughters, Kim (Mike) Class of Liberty, Amy (Jeff) Wirsig of Richmond and Laurinda (Bennie) Almendares of St. Robert; one son, Jonathan Leach of Hardin; seven grandchildren, Ava, Lily and Linkin Wirsig, Jake and Zach Class, and R.J. and Emma Almendares; one brother, Cleatus Burnine of Richmond; one sister, Terrie (Donnie) Mais of Lake of the Ozarks; and one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Burnine of Lee’s Summit.
