James Wesley “Jim” Noble, 84, of Lawson, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.

James Wesley Noble was born on June 28, 1936, in Norborne, the son of Bertie Raymond and Nora Viola (Paine) Noble. He was united in marriage to Mary Dell Tarwater of Orrick on July 8, 1955. She preceded him in death on Jan. 30, 2020.

Survivors include three sons, John Wesley (Deborah) Noble of Lathrop, James Raymond (Jill) Noble of Liberty, and Thomas William (Romona) Noble of Norfolk, Nebraska; two daughters, Nancy Ellen (R. Edward) Dobbins of Kansas City and Barbara Ann (Terry) Maidment of Ridgecrest, California; 15 grandchildren, Amanda Cockrum, Jeff (Chrissy) Noble, Cole (Jennifer) Noble, Tara (Nathan) Quick, Clay (Hacky) Noble, Collin (Tiffany) Noble, Jillian Noble (Paul Redmond), Charlie Noble, Patrick (Alexandria) Noble, Donna Jean (Kyle) Coover, Paige Noble, Diane Dobbins, Racheal Dobbins, Shelly (Cody) Burgwald and Dianne (James) Merkel; and 15 great-grandchildren, Megan, Nathan, Autum, Kennedy, Adia, Avarie, Grayson, Gavin, Benjamin, Cora, Lilyann, Charlotte, Hoss, Hazel, Aiden and two on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; four brothers, Charles G. Noble, Edward Eugene Noble and Robert Lee Noble, Bertie Raymond Noble-in infancy; and two sisters, Wanda Mae Schulze and Sue Beadlescomb.

Jim was reared and educated in Ray County and attended grade school in Millville. Jim’s work history included working as a union carpenter, farming and as a motor grader operator for the Richmond Special Road District and Ray County. He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Rayville. He loved horses, dogs and coon hunting. He was a member of the Rayville Saddle Club. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Visitation with funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept.29, 2020, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Services followed at 11 a.m. Burial occurred in Richmond Memory Gardens, with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and Ray County Veterans.
