Dismiss hearing set for Sheriff Childers

After a flurry of motions in the State of Missouri versus Scott Childers quo warranto, which led to the Ray County sheriff’s removal from office on March 7, attorneys for former Sheriff Scott Childers have filed yet another response. MissouriAttorney General (AG) Andrew Bailey initially filed allegations against Childers, which was followed by a filing from Childers’ attorneys giving answers to the allegations, along with a request to dismiss. Immediately after came the AG’s answers to the request, along with his request to deny the request to dismiss. The latest filing is from Childers attorneys — a reply to the AG’s response filed requesting the court deny the motion to dismiss. Childers’ motion to dismiss hearing has been set for April 30, 2024, at 2 p.m. in Ray County Circuit Court with Judge Daren L. Atkins, associate circuit judge 43 district, presiding.
