Spartans get first v-ball win

Body CHILLICOTHE – The Spartans have given Crystal Turner her first victory as Richmond’s varsity volleyball coach. After falling 2-0 to both Chillicothe and Excelsior Springs, Richmond swept Penney of Hamilton 2-0 Sept.

Spartans still in search of consistency

Body HIGGINSVILLE – Richmond’s 0-4 performance in the Husker Spikefest provided a reminder of the importance of consistency, varsity volleyball coach Crystal Turner said. “We can’t sustain play for several points, but then drop, OK?” Turner said.

Area golfers crack top 30 at Richmond

Body RICHMOND – The Spartans and Tigers each produced at least one top-30 finisher at the Richmond Girls Golf Tournament Wednesday. Richmond’s Kennedy Wrisinger led area finishers by placing in a three-way tie for eighth in the 18-hole tournament at Shirkey Golf Course.

Body KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The Spartans scored early, and often, and played solid defense in their 54-16 win over Bishop Ward Catholic High School. Richmond made the last-minute decision to play Ward after COVID-19 stopped the planned game against Fulton.
