Resident warns of flooding risk, council tackles city issues

A Richmond homeowner, worried that nearby construction could make long-standing drainage problems worse, asked city officials to address the situation before his property is damaged. During a recent Richmond City Council meeting, resident Billy Hufford said he supports new housing but fears recent work across the street from his home at 207 Morningside Terrace will cause more runoff toward his split-level house.

Bond violations filed after $20,000 release, drug test arrest

Two bond violation reports have been filed on an Excelsior Springs woman who is facing nine felony sex abuse charges for allegedly insufficiently checking in with the court-ordered monitoring program. The violations came after she posted a $20,000 cash-only bond following her arrest on a failure to abide warrant for allegedly failing a court-ordered drug test while awaiting trial.
