McGaugh talks environmental protection bill

District 7 State Representative Peggy McGaugh discussed a comprehensive environmental protection bill, recently passed by the Missouri House, which will safeguard state water resources in her capitol report. House Bills (HB) 2134 and 1956 have the goal of preventing companies from storing and spreading meatpacking waste on rural Missouri farmland.

Sheriff’s department partners with Shield 616

Bulletproof vests are crucial to any patrolling law enforcement. Amid the use of rifles in most shooting- related incidents, rifle- rated vests are the talk of law enforcement gear. Shield 616 Charity Founder Jake Skifstad talked to the Ray County Sheriff’s Department (RCSD) about rifle- rated vests — called Angel Armor — and offered tips on raising the money needed to purchase them, about $36,000 for the whole department. Shield 616 has offered to assist RCSD in making sure every officer is properly protected. Skifstad understands there are places in the United States that are anti-law enforcement and who want to “defund the cops”. But Shield 616 is about shifting the narrative and praising the hometown heroes, he said.
