RICHMOND – GAP Assistance of Ray County has opened a second distribution center for Ray County families. The distribution center is at the Richmond United Methodist Church.

ODESSA – Coach Nick Persell and his Spartans worked through plays on Aug. 20 at the Odessa jamboree, a threeway, hard-hitting, preseason scrimmage among Richmond, Odessa and Lincoln College Preparatory Academy.

LAWSON – Representatives from Missouri State Parks held an informational meeting Wednesday at Watkins Woolen Mill State Park and State Historic Site, 26600 Park Road North, Lawson. The park service invited the public to share comments and ask questions about the park and operations there.

HARDIN – Morgan Finley and Blake Logsdon are this year’s Ray County Fair Harold Strobel Citizen of Service Award recipients. Each will receive $250.

SEDALIA – More than three years after this newspaper broke the story – “Deadbeat Missouri? State claims ‘balanced budget,’ but in arrears to county jail fees” – the state has paid the debt.
