RICHMOND– The chili chef, Ron White, lifts a lid and stirs while standing in front of several tables filled by more than a dozen full roasting pans. “It’s my original recipe,” he says. “It’s mild. It’s perfect for everybody.” White is right. The chili goes down easily – no need for blowing a nose and gulping a gallon of water. Supporters with a desire can add spice to their own tastes. While volunteer Kenny Goetz helps cart a couple of pans at a time from the service area through the assembly room to the front of the Ideal Industries building, White says patrons can expect more from Ideal’s Annual Soup and Chili Fundraiser. He credits Laura Wrisinger for composing vegetable soup by the panful. Altogether, there is enough chili and soup to fill a hot tub, and all is needed to the final spoonful, he says. “We’ll sell every bit of this,” White says. “We have 13 huge roasting pans full of chili and three huge roasting pans of vegetable soup.” In the lobby and just outside the door,…
