Koons shares ag journalism interests with local students

The agricultural journalism industry is rapidly growing and journalists are making their way to high schools to encourage students to follow in this career. Cami Koons, the agriculture journalist for Flatland KC, joined the Richmond High School agriculture communications class. Cami informed the students about what struck her interest in journalism, but also how she managed to become involved in the agriculture aspect when she had no relation to agriculture beforehand.

Hulsey visits Richmond High School, talks communications

Tyne Morgan Hulsey is a national agricultural news broadcaster for the Farm Journal and host of the “U.S. Farm Report.” She came to Richmond High School to talk to agriculture communication students about her day-today life as a broadcaster and how she became the first ever female host of the “U.S. Farm Report.”

The Hardin-Central School District challenged the Orrick School District to a donation drive challenge. Although Hardin-Central School District Superintendent Trey Cavanah said there were no winners due to the number of items donated, nearly $800 was raised and 800 items were donated, he said.
