With giant human hamster balls and warm weather, Special Needs Services (SNS) of Ray County were ready to participate in the Community at Play (CAP) Bubble Ball event. Nearly 100 Ray Countians alike showed their support, including Richmond City Police Department (RCPD) officers, at Maurice Park.

An Excelsior Estates structural fire is under investigation for “suspicious circumstances,” according to Lawson Fire Chief Gene Nolker. A structure fire near 16353 Bob Drive in Excelsior Estates was reported to Lawson Fire Department (LFD) from Ray County Dispatch around 11:58 p.m.

With the goal of raising awareness for first responders’ mental health and selfcare, an event was recently hosted by Project Hero Foundation and Branded Steakhouse in Richmond. Co-founders of the nonprofit foundation, president Tobi Lackey and secretary Tammy Folvarcik, felt it was important to recognize first responders during National Mental Health Awareness Month.

With older buildings come a need for preservation and upkeep. The 113-year-old Ray County Museum has its fair share of maintenance needs, confirms Ray County Museum Director Cathy Gottsch.

With fun games and tugo- war rope, Dear Elementary students were ready to participate in Field Day events. Students, staff and parents showed their support during the showdown, which included games such as obstacle courses, bean bag races, soccer relay, corn hole and more.

The Digital Asset Map is a project of the University of Missouri (MU) System Broadband Initiative in partnership with the Missouri Department of Economic Development and the Missouri Broadband Resource Rail.

It is summer break for the R-XVI School District, but for Richmond High School (RHS) Future Farmers of America (FFA), it is a chance to get ahead. The next couple of months, the FFA students will continue working for the next 20232024 school year, said RHS FFAAdvisor Laura Allen.
