RICHMOND – “It’s a money pit.” Western Commissioner Gary Wilhite described the Ray County Jail by referencing a 1986 comedy film about a couple pouring money into a “fixerupper” that never seems to get fixed. Eastern Commissioner Dave Powell said work is ongoing to make the most out of the shed-like jail.

Billy Farrel Greer

Billy Farrel Greer, 83, Camden, MO died July 23, 2021. Billy was born November 30, 1937 in Camden to Mark Greer and Harriett (Butler) Greer. He lived in Camden until he graduated from Camden High School. He then went to the Art Institute and painted everywhere. He returned to Camden after his dad passed in 1988 to be with his mom.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Several cousins survive.

He wished to be cremated and there is no service planned.

Kelly Gene Clark

Kelly Gene Clark, 59, of Richmond, died Friday, July 23, 2021, at KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.

Kelly was born on May 8, 1962, in Richmond, the son of Gerald Lewis and Joan (Keller) Clark.  He was united in marriage to Tammy Jo Hardwick of Richmond on February 6, 2004 she survives of the home.
