RICHMOND – A COVID-19 outbreak at the Ray County Jail sen several staff members and employees home, Sheriff Scott Childers said March 18. Eleven people – six inmates and five employees – tested positive for the virus, he said.
RICHMOND – The 911 board heard criticism from Sheriff Scott Childers in January when he did not get money for more communication equipment. The board responded in February, saying the department got communication equipment money under the former sheriff and must address more pressing issues; and Childers is having another go at explaining his position.

Gov. Mike Parson tweeted that Missouri COVID cases and hospitalizations are down, which definitely is worth celebrating, but the rest of his message establishes a false equivalency.
