Crooked River climbs into yards, garages

RICHMOND – On June 25, the Fishing River covered the intersection at Northview Drive and Brookwood Street, getting into yards and basements, and surrounding the residence at 200 Northview. Flooding is an occasional irritation for residents on the north edge of the subdivision, which is just west of Missouri Highway 13, resident Sarah Madget said.

Waterfest Weekend Cancelled

After months of preparation, Waterfest has been cancelled due to downtown Excelsior Springs floods from Thursday night and Friday morning thunderstorms. 

“Because of the flooding and the potential for future flooding this weekend, for the safety of the vendors and public, we have decided to cancel Waterfest Weekend,” said Brian Rice, Waterfest Chair.
