District Seven State Representative has provided updates after returning to work in Jefferson City following the election, including her appointment to several committees. McGaugh will now serve on the following committees: Administration and Accounts, Elections, Local Government and the Special Committee on Rural Issues.

A counter-human trafficking operation led to the arrest of two men who attempted to engage in sexual activity with a child and provided services to over a dozen potential trafficking victims. The Ray County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) along with Clay County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and other law enforcement agencies and advocacy organizations, conducted the operation on Jan.

Local business owner McKayla Mabery has been granted a conditional use permit (CUP) for a pet daycare and boarding facility located at 806 E. Main.

Due to the expected favorable weather conditions, construction progress is expected to continue at the Early Childhood Development Center. Immediate plans include completing the roofing, and continuing exterior framing, as well as waterproofing and installing interior systems.

The Missouri Farmers Care Foundation has made a difference by awarding grants to three dedicated local 4-H organizations: Guys & Gals, Lawson and Millville. Each organization is committed to addressing food insecurity in its community.
